A Taste of Tiki, Tapas, and Sushi at The Lure

A Unique and Inviting Atmosphere

Stepping into The Lure in St. Petersburg feels like entering a billiards oasis. The restaurant exudes a tiki, tapas, sushi, and billiard-style theme, transporting guests to a vibrant and welcoming environment. With two pool tables and eclectic decorations, it’s an ideal spot for happy hour, a fun night out, or a laid-back meal with friends and family. Its unique ambiance sets it apart from other dining options in the area, making it an experience you won’t want to miss.

The restaurant offers a variety of seating options, both indoors and outdoors, to accommodate all guests. The indoor area is spacious and comfortable, while the outdoor area provides a relaxed setting to enjoy the beautiful St. Petersburg weather. The Lure is also known for its pet-friendly accommodations, which I will discuss further later in this review.

A Diverse and Delightful Menu

The Lure’s menu features a mouth-watering selection of sushi, sashimi, and nigiri, with each dish crafted to perfection. Although their legendary lobster nachos have been discontinued, the remaining dishes continue to impress.

In addition to sushi, The Lure offers poke bowls, gluten-free options, and an array of tempting appetizers. One of my personal favorites is “The Kate,” featuring deep sauteed cauliflower tossed in buffalo sauce – a dish that boasts a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

The Lure also has a wide range of salads, like the Rob’s Cobb salad I enjoyed during my visit. The mixed greens with gorgonzola cheese, bacon, egg, spicy shredded chicken, and bleu cheese dressing were not only visually appealing but also scrumptious.

For guests seeking more substantial fare, The Lure offers a variety of entrées, ranging from seafood dishes to vegetarian options. Their commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients ensures a memorable dining experience.

A Paradise for Dog Owners and Their Pups

One of the most notable aspects of The Lure is its dedication to accommodating dog owners and their furry friends. Bolt and I have always received exceptional treatment during our visits, with the staff even occasionally bringing out beef shreds or chunks of grilled chicken for our canine companion. Although there isn’t a specific pet menu, The Lure ensures that every four-legged guest feels like royalty.

The Lure offers both indoor and outdoor seating for well-behaved dogs, making it a truly pet-friendly establishment. The indoor option is a fantastic perk, allowing guests and their pups to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere without worrying about the elements. The outdoor area, though cute, sits on busy Central Ave and lacks shrubbery to block street noise. However, the attentive staff ensures Bolt always has a fresh bowl of ice water to keep him comfortable.

An Impressive Selection of Cocktails and Beverages

For those who enjoy a good drink, The Lure boasts a fully stocked bar, offering a variety of cocktails, beer, and wine options. Their signature tiki drinks, served in fun tiki mugs, are a must-try, and their margaritas and mojitos are said to be top-notch. For those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages, there are plenty of alternatives available as well, ensuring that every guest can find a drink to suit their tastes.

Room for Improvement

While The Lure excels in many areas, there is one aspect that could use a little attention: their dessert game. Expanding their dessert menu and offering a wider variety of sweet treats would elevate the overall dining experience even further.

Final Thoughts

The Lure is a gem in St. Petersburg, with its diverse menu, delectable sushi, and outstanding service for both humans and dogs. The staff’s dedication to providing a warm and welcoming environment for dog owners and their pups truly sets this establishment apart from others in the area. With its unique atmosphere, diverse menu options, and commitment to accommodating all guests, The Lure is a must-visit destination in St. Petersburg.

Whether you’re a fan of sushi, tapas, or just looking for a fantastic pet-friendly dining experience, The Lure has something for everyone. While their dessert offerings could use some improvement, the restaurant more than makes up for it with its fantastic menu options and attentive service.

If you find yourself in St. Petersburg, don’t hesitate to visit The Lure with your furry friend. You’ll be treated to a dining experience you won’t soon forget, with delicious food, an unforgettable atmosphere, and exceptional hospitality.
